Meeks in no rush

Jerry Tipton lets us know Jodie Meeks is in no hurry to make a decision about his future. He spoke with Jodie's father about the senior-to-be and Orestes said his schedule is too hectic to worry about a decision just yet.

The NBA Combine will be held in Chicago May 28-29, and Meeks has workouts planned well beyond that date. Recently, he worked out for the Seattle SuperSonics Oklahoma City Thunder.

Meeks will have until June 15th to pull his name from the NBA Draft. The Draft takes place June 25th.

Not for sure who his other workouts are scheduled with, but you have to like Oklahoma City giving him one. They will be picking very early in the first and second rounds. And as much as I love Jodie, he ain't goin' in the early first. As Meeks has said before, if he's projected in the second, he'll be back. And we all know if you ever change your mind in life, you will be labeled a flip-flopper for eternity.

  2. Jodie is in a win-win situation-return as a highly touted senior on a loaded recruiting class caliber team or have an opportunity in the NBA. I think he is a level-headed guy and will make a wise choice based on what the NBA tells him he needs to improve/work on or where they see him in the draft. Just remember, the draft boards are run by analysts and are not the voice of the NBA. Some of the same analysts that said he couldn't shoot. Hmmm.....
