It's a Twitty Twit World

In this age of instant news, flying cars, and I-everything, Twitter has shimmied its way to the top of the heap in regards to weird stuff being amazingly successful. As we all know, the three main faces of UK Athletics (Cal, PaPaw, and Joker) have jumped aboard the Twitter train to separate themselves from the technologically challenged. Here are some highlights from each account over the past week.

Coach Cal:
  • takes at shot at Billy Clyde and eats breakfast at a pharmacy.
  • raised $50K for cancer research by selling four tickets to the UK-UL game.
  • crushed a bowl of pasta and dominated a few local pizza joints.

PaPaw Brooks:

  • taught Jeremy Jarmon the intricacies of fly fishing.
  • planted some tomatoes.
  • was very impressed with Mary Jo Perino at the Derby.

Joker Phillips:

  • hitched a ride in Wesley Woodyard's new BMW 750 while in Denver.
  • bet on Chocolate Candy in the Derby.
  • traveled the country recruiting, then stopped in to wish Mom a Happy Mother's Day.
  • had a birthday, turning 46.
  • was star struck when he got to meet R&B singer Keith Sweat.

All in all, the UK coaches let us know that Twitter gives us the most random collection of thoughts since Miss Teen South Carolina.

  1. If Bird had gotten a clean trip he might have beaten Rachel. It sets up an interesting Belmont.

  2. you darn right. If the inside had been there, I think he could've gotten her. She'll have to bring more than that in 3 weeks. Would like to see Borel win the Triple. I need to witness a Triple in my lifetime, better him than nobody.
