... has anything ever good happened. I wake up to see on this date in 1995, Billy Spivey was found dead in his Costa Rican apartment. Spivey was the 7'1" All-American who led Kentucky to the 1951 NCAA Championship. His promising career would later be cut short due to allegations of point shaving. He was one of 32 players who conspired with gamblers to fix college games, according to the New York attorney who implicated them. Not guilty was the plea as the charges were later dropped. The NBA banned Spivey from playing and paid him $10,000 to say away from their league. Have a good weekend!
