Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson have been named first team All-SEC for their stellar play this season. They were joined by Nick Calathes (FLA), Marcus Thornton (LSU), Tasmin Mitchell (LSU), Devan Downey (USC), Tyler Smith (Tenn), and Jarvis Varnado (MSU). (Eight players for the first-team...really?) LSU's Trent Johnson was named Coach of the Year. Varnado was the Defensive Player of the Year, while Thornton was the SEC Player of the Year.Of course all of this only begs the question - How in the hell do you have two first team all-SEC players and not even sniff the NCAA Tournament?
