Vaught on Gillispie

Nothing will happen to the man above until after the season. This much has been made clear by Todd and Barnhart. But Larry Vaught poses a good question. Is this bad coaching or bad talent? Probably a combination of both because each have their flaws. Take this quote from a freakin' GEORGIA player:
"It's not a secret how to beat Kentucky. I think they understand it, too. It's just one of those things they can't do anything about because of the talent they have. They really only have two good players (Patrick Patterson and Jodie Meeks)," said Georgia senior Albert Jackson, a Kentucky native.

Vaught also goes onto say how Gillispie may not have necessarily been a bad hire per se, just a bad fit.
Would any business in America hesitate to make a change after two years if a key employee was not performing the way the top executives envisioned when they hired him? No.
Hindsight is always perfect. If Todd and Barnhart agree now that Gillispie is not the right man to lead the UK basketball program, fine. That doesn't mean their initial decision was wrong. It just means Gillispie didn't handle the UK program the way they thought he could.
