Haters beware, Larry's out to getcha

Larry Vaught has two words for all of the Calipari haters out there: show me. These are the media members who are talking about all of Coach Cal's potential NCAA rules violations.

Of all the media outlets criticizing UK for the Calipari hire, none have shown proof of NCAA violations. Why? Because there are none. They all speak of the Marcus Camby incident, where he accepted cash from an agent, thus making him ineligible for the 1996 Final Four. Did Calipari know about this? Maybe, maybe not. But the NCAA never named him in any of the violations.

Everyone talks of his relationship with World Wide Wes. Is this man shady? Maybe, maybe not. What he is, is a man who knows people. He knows what athletes fit into what system. Does he persuade high school athletes to go to certain schools? Probably, but who doesn't. Am I supposed to believe Michael Jordan doesn't persuade kids to play for Carolina? Michael Jordan knows alot of people too. Actually, he knows World Wide Wes. This is from the Courier-Journal:

He is an advisor to some of basketball's biggest stars, according to a 2007 GQ magazine article. Wesley has the ear of Michael Jordan and LeBron James, and he's said to provide guidance to some of the top high school players in America.
He's also a friend of new University of Kentucky coach John Calipari.

What's the difference in WWW knowing Kentucky ties as opposed to Carolina ties? And if he knows both Cal and Air, how does he choose who to send what athletes? How come nobody question s the relationship to Jordan and Carolina?

As Larry points out, UK's contract with Calipari is so laden with "out-clauses" for violations its funny. Why would Calipari come to the most scrutinized job in America? It would make a local reporter's career to catch him just once. Everyone will search through everything he does with a fine-tooth comb. They didn't have to in the Eddie Sutton Era, everything came out into the open on its own, pun intended.

And while John Calipari has never been named in any NCAA violations, the man just 75 miles west of Lexington has been named in a few...............8 times to be exact. But we don't need to hear about those, right?

  1. The only reason nobody questioned WWW before is because he wasn't dealing with UK. UK is a lightning rod for media conspiracy theories.
