So says The Hoops Report via Aaron's UK Basketball Blog. If this is the case, you have to think this was why Jodie was so confident in leaving his name in the Draft.
The guarantee comes from the Denver Nuggets (pick #34), which would be an excellent fit for Meeks. Their up-and-down style would suit his game and would give him the opportunity to play in the open court and get some shots up as a reserve. Not to mention Jodie would be going to a team that made it to the Western Conference Finals this past season.
The only workout Meeks has been through since the June 15th deadline was for the New Jersey Nets. Rumor has it the Nets will try to trade down to possibly get an extra late first round pick. They currently only hold the 11th overall pick with the rumor of trading it to get the 16th and 26th from the Chicago Bulls. Therefore we might get to see a bidding war for the services of our former shooting guard.
I'm really looking forward to Draft this Thursday as it seems like its been an eternity since a UK player has been drafted. Hopefully the NBA Draft will be a sign of things to come from our current crop of Wildcats.
