June 16, 1774 - Happy 235th Birthday!

On yesterday's date 235 years ago, Big Blue Booyah's hometown, Harrodsburg, KY, was made the first permanent settlement in the history of the world Kentucky (just don't tell that to the Indians they forced out).

James Harrod rode an army tank into town, parked it on a hill, walked a few miles down the road, and built the above settlement. The parking lot, stairs with railing, and stone walkway didn't come for another six months or so. He then started the world's first County Fair & Horse Show, followed by the first Beef Festival and Wine Tasting west of the Appalachian Mountains.

Scholars maintain the great Woodstock Festival in 1969 was derived from the nation's first hippy festival formed by Harrod and his crew. He called it the
Terrapin Hill Harvest Festival, or Turtle Days.
