Derby Classic

Saturday at 7:00pm tips off the 2009 Wazoo Sports Derby Classic. Here is where we stand with some of the participants:

• Daniel Orton is committed to the Cats. He said yesterday he is still 90% sure he will come. The remaining 10% lies with Kansas, and they had two scholarships open this week.
• Jon Hood is committed to the Cats. He said he is 95% sure he will be in Blue. He has been recruiting hard for UK at this week's practices.
• Nolan Dennis, former Memphis recruit, will be taking a visit to Lexington this weekend and is strongly considering the Cats. He is an extremely athletic shooting guard.
• Eric Bledsoe has Florida on top of his list and UK 2nd. He is one of the highest rated, uncommitted point guards left for 2009. Bledsoe has yet to qualify. He will also visit Lexington this weekend.
• Two Louisville recruits playing in the game, Mike Marra and Peyton Siva, have a total of 28 tattoos between them. Imagine that.
• Coach Cal is in Portland watching DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall in the Hoop Summit. Cal and Cousins will attempt to kidnap Wall.
