September 23rd: On this date...
...... in 2004, Keenan Burton had wrist surgery, effectively ending his ‘04 campaign. The most valuable wrist on the team was injured on August 31st. He tried playing through the pain, but the team decided his effectiveness wasn't going to help the team or his future. With the injury happening so early in the season, he would be able to apply for a medical redshirt. He did and it was granted, giving the sophomore three more seasons to play for the Big Blue. Burton went on to become part of one of the most storied football teams in program history, not to mention one of the best receivers.
